We offer a 21st century taste of Japanese foods, enhanced by flavors and ingredients from all over the world. As a destination, Izakaya has become the place to grab a drink, connect with friends – or romance someone special – and have fun with delicious small plates and imaginative beverages. Izakaya is known for its extensive whisky and sake lists. We have hosted birthday parties, farewell parties, graduation dinners, corporate holiday events, brunch parties, luaus, wine tastings, and more.
Food & Drink Minimums
Food and drink minimums are subject to change depending on the season and month. The food and drink minimum will be applied to the consumption at your event. Prices are subject to local and state taxes. The minimum does not include tax or gratuity. There is no charge for the room.
For all events for more than 18 people, we will add a 20% gratuity which will be divided among the wait staff serving your event. Modifications to this amount can be made prior to the event through our event coordinator, or, on the day of the event, through the manager on duty.
All menu details must be confirmed at least 3 business days prior to the day of your event. Any changes to the menu must be made at least seven business days prior to the day of the event. Sample menus are sent based on the type of event. We will print menus for you and your guests with a logo or header if preferred. We can also print place cards, programs, etc.
All cocktails are charged on consumption, per drink. Arrangements can be made for sake and wine to be charged on consumption per bottle or per glass. All sake and wine selections must be chosen at least 4 days before the event to insure its availability. Only alcohol provided by Izakaya will be allowed. We do not have a corking fee.
Space Set Up
Space set up begins 2 hours prior to your event. The space will be set 30 minutes before starting time, unless other arrangements have been made. Please be sure to inform your Izakaya event planner of any special requests on how you would prefer the space to be set up during the planning sessions. Space Confirmation and Guarantees Dates are considered definite upon signing an agreement and providing a valid credit card number authorization form. The estimated number of guests must be submitted two days prior to your event. If a guarantee is not received, the original contracted attendance figure will be used as the final guarantee. Cancellations must be submitted in writing seven business days prior to your event, otherwise the credit card on file will be charged the food and beverage minimum. Under special circumstances, we send you a gift card for the amount charged.
Izakaya allows decorations for all events. We can work with you to provide decorations, which will be added to your final bill, or you are welcome to bring decorations and either set up yourself, or have our staff set up for you. We allow most traditional decorations, and all can be approved by the Manager on Duty or our Event Planner. The only decoration not allowed is confetti of any kind, including balloons filled with confetti. There will be a $50 clean up fee is confetti is put out at an event.
Music / DJ, Entertainment, Linens, Decor, Party Rentals, Set – Up & Coordination are all possible with notice. Please ask for more details.
Audio Visual (AV) Equipment
Izakaya does not have any AV equipment. You must inform us at the time of your booking if any AV is needed. We can accommodate AV equipment with notice two business days in advance of the event. You will be responsible for bringing and setting up any equipment needed.
Izakaya offers street parking, covered parking in our adjacent parking garage (pay to park), as well as valet service for the block located across the street between Cyclone Anaya’s and Freshii. Thursday through Saturday evenings there is pre-paid flat rate parking at CVS across the street.
We can include desserts in your event menu, but we also allow desserts to be brought in. For outside desserts, we charge a $15 plating fee or a $1 per slice serving charge (whichever is less).
We offer private Japanese Whisky or Shochu classes, Wine and Sake tastings, or multi-course dinners. All events can be personalized to your specifications. We do need at least two weeks in advance to plan tastings, classes and large seated dinners.

From a standing reception to a full seated dinner, Izakaya has you covered. We have catered office events, home dinners, weddings, and birthday parties.
Our Mural Room is in the back of the restaurant with a view of the patio and courtyard. It can be set up in long tables, with booths lining the walls. The room can seat parties up to 50 guests with mix seating.
Our bar is one of the focal points in our Main Dining Room. It can seat up to 18 guests across the length of the bar.
Gray St. Patio
Gray St. Patio is at the corner of Gray and Bagby. With views of Midtown and Downtown, it can seat up to 45 guests and be setup a variety of ways.
Main Dining Room
The Main Dining Room is in the front of the restaurant with a view of Gray and Bagby intersection. With lots of natural light and the focal points of both the Cocktail Bar and our Raw Bar, it can seat up to 56 guests with mixed seating.
